Stinking Thinking?… Think Like Christ!

The first place Satan likes to attack is our mind. Our mind is the center of our behavior. Therefore, this is where our choices, beliefs, and emotions originate. Because of this, Philippians 2:1 – 11 invites us to take on the mind of Christ. Yes, we, Christians, are to think like Christ. Moreover, we are Christ followers so we act, do and think like Christ.

How much we think like Christ reveals our surrender to Him. It is one thing for us to say we are Christ followers, it is another thing to think and live like Christ. Of course we cannot do this on our own. It is a supernatural occurrence. Undoubtedly, we have to rely on the Holy Spirit to help us every step of the way.

Satan is the one who leads us into sinful actions. Notice I said lead. We still have authority over Satan. We have to decide if we are going to cooperate with him or God. Satan has no authority over us unless we give it to him. Imagine that, we surrender to Satan instead of God. That is what happens.

The battle of obedience to God is won and lost in the mind. We have to allow our brains to be rewired. We have to decide who we are going to obey. What influences command our attention. Is it the things of God or the things of Satan? Even when we attack ourselves, that is of Satan. God does not cause us to turn on ourselves.

Christ teaches us how to be selfless. This is truly where our happiness and joy lies. We as Christians learn life is not about us. It is about us magnifying and glorifying God. Jesus teaches us how to do that. We must humble ourselves to take on the mind of Christ… Surrender. Amen. Love & Blessings!
