Satan loves to keep us in bondage, chains, and shame. He loves for us to misunderstand God’s word, with his help. Oftentimes, these misunderstandings will lead and leave us in our sin. Because we love God, we do not want to willingly sin. Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments (John 14:15). The Holy Spirit will help us (John 14:26).
As a result of what Jesus has done for us on the cross we have the power not to sin. Further, the Bible says with every temptation God will provide a way of escape. We have to be alert. When we put on our armor of God everyday, we will be on guard and see the Holy Spirit leading and guiding us into the right paths of life.
Although grace is unearned forgiveness, which most of us are very familiar with. It is also God’s power in us not to sin. Satan deceives us into thinking it is okay for us to sin and give in to our temptations. After all, we are human. God’s power, the Holy Spirit, will help us to escape temptation and sin.
Grace is not a license for us to sin. Romans 6:14says grace breaks the controlling power of sin that tries to overtake us. This grace gives us strength to choose the right way. Titus 2:11-12 teaches us that the Holy Spirit actively helps us to say no to the passions of the world and ungodliness. We have HELP! It is God’s GRACE… Amen.
