We serve a God who is omnipresent and omniscient. That means He is EVERYWHERE and knows ALL. Jesus said when I was in prison you visited me (Mathew 25:36). Where Is God Now is partnering with Chesapeake Jail Ministries to bring the good news of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
For those of you who have known me for a long time, you know I was a Chesapeake police officer and special agent with the United States Coast Guard Reserves. These were law enforcement assignments God gave me early on in my career before my career in education. As an educator, I served as a crisis counselor before becoming a school administrator. Now that I am retired, you can see God wastes nothing in our lives. He is sending me back into the world of law enforcement still shinning His light, but in a different capacity.
Being God’s hands, mouth, and feet allows God to get his work done in this jail ministry. I am just the vessel. The Holy Spirit will have the opportunity to minister individually to the people I come in contact with. That is one of the beautiful things about being a modern-day disciple for our Lord. Because He knows each of us inside and out, He will tailor messages specifically for those who need it. We just make ourselves available to get the good news out.
I ask your prayers that hearts, minds, souls, and spirits are open and receptive to what God wants to do in their lives. Once they leave jail, they will have a new beginning. We want that new beginning to be with allowing Jesus to be Lord, letting Him lead and guide them into the abundant, victorious life God has promised us all… Amen!
